Here at Talent Match Staffordshire, we know that we can’t succeed on our own. Our partners are vital in providing key information, knowledge and support to enable us to effectively reach the projects aims and meet the following objectives:
- Young people have gained employment or are engaged in enterprise
- Young people have increased confidence and career skills
- Young people become peer mentors and youth action team members, contributing to self-development and becoming ambassadors of the programme
- Young people contribute to the development of an Employers’ Charter which will help address barriers that young people face in finding and sustaining employment
Our current partnership involves not only the excellent experience of the voluntary and community sector, but multi-million-pound businesses such as Central England Co-operative and support agencies like Job Centre Plus. So whatever your sector, and whatever you time you can contribute, you can be involved in partnering with Talent Match Staffordshire. Here are some ways that you can;
Core Partnership Members
Core Partners are Staffordshire based organisations that provide in-depth support for the project as well as involvement and attendance at quarterly Core Group meetings. The Core Partners role includes agreeing strategies, budgets and monitoring the overall performance of the project. They understand and are committed to the full engagement of young people within the project.
Wider Partnership Members
Talent Match Staffordshire operates a wider partnership arrangement that allows a large number of organisations to support the project outcomes without the requirement to sit on the Core Group. These are organisations that wish to contribute to this worthwhile cause by updating the project on new ideas and initiatives and provide a small amount of free advice when required. Wider partners have the great opportunity to develop meaningful connections with other agencies and organisations through events and the free Talent Match Staffordshire E-Newsletter.
Big Lottery funding has enabled Talent Match Staffordshire to commission services to train and support young people into employment or business start-up. To provide that much needed training, Talent Match Staffordshire is developing a framework of preferred suppliers through a careful tendering process. Suppliers must be able to deliver their services in the areas of Lichfield, Cannock Chase and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Suitable organisations can submit expressions of interest for a variety of services, such as training and enterprise support. These submissions are then examined by our Youth Action Teams and a procurement group to identify which are suitable to be entered on to the preferred suppliers list.
Young people accessing our services, with the guidance of their Peer Mentor, can then select from the preferred suppliers list which of the services are most appropriate for them.
