Safer Neighbourhood Panel
This is a real opportunity to get involved in scrutinising policing at a local level. You will be able to hold the local commander to account to ensure that policing is being delivered effectively in your area, as well has having the chance to scrutinise the use of stop & search, complaint resolution, local satisfaction and confidence, the use of restorative justice as well as understanding the crime figures for your area.
The panel will be a mix of elected representatives and members of the public who can come together and be a part of the Police & Crime Commissioner’s pledge to make Staffordshire the most open and transparent police force in the country.
Being on the panel means you are well placed to feedback to your communities about policing in your area, as well as being able to provide the police commanders with a public perspective on policing in the area. We are looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds, so you do not need any previous experience of policing or specific formal qualifications.
What we are really looking for, is someone who:
- Has an interest in what matters in your communities,
- Wants to make a positive difference to policing in your area
- Has an eye for detail,
- Is able to challenge effectively
- Can think creatively
- Is able to work as part of a wider group
- Be able to commit to attend the panel meetings which will sit at least quarterly.
